How to purchase the items on my Recipe Cloud grocery list with Instacart®

Quick answer: Add items to your shopping list, then send the unchecked items to Instacart®. Recipe Cloud opens Instacart with your list pre-filled; you pick your store, confirm products, and check out on Instacart. Available in the US and Canada on iPhone, iPad, and the web.

Before you start

• Build your list first — add items manually, from recipes, or from your meal plan.
• Only unchecked items are sent — things you’ve already marked off stay off the Instacart order.
• Use clear item names — Instacart matches products from the item name, quantity, and unit (see formatting tips below).

iPhone and iPad

1. Open the Shopping tab.
2. Tap the cart icon (Shop your list).
3. Tap Shop with Instacart.
4. Instacart opens in your browser or the Instacart app. Choose your store, review matched products, and complete checkout there.

If your list is empty, the button is disabled and you’ll see Add items to your list first.

Web app

1. Sign in and open Shopping List at recipecloudapp.com/shopping-list/.

Desktop

1. Tap the cart menu (▾) in the toolbar.
2. Click Get ingredients with Instacart.

Mobile browser

1. Tap ⋯.
2. Tap Get Ingredients with Instacart.

Instacart opens in a new tab. Choose your store, review items, and check out on Instacart.

Formatting for best results

Use simple grocery-style lines with a quantity, unit, and product name when you can:

2 lb chicken breast

1 gallon whole milk

1 dozen eggs

3 cans black beans

Optional format (same as when adding items manually):

[qty] [unit] [Item Name] ( [Note] )

Examples:

• 2 cups flour
• 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
• 1 bunch cilantro (optional)

Tips:

• Lead with the product name — chicken breast, whole milk, yellow onions match better than long recipe-style lines.
• Include quantity and unit when you know them — 2 lb, 1 gallon, 3 cans help Instacart suggest the right size.
• Keep notes short — parenthetical notes are mainly for your list; Instacart uses the item name, quantity, and unit for matching.
• One product per line — don’t combine multiple items on one line.

Availability

The Instacart option appears when you’re in the US or Canada. It won’t show in other regions.

What happens on Instacart

Recipe Cloud sends your list to Instacart. You’ll choose a store, confirm or swap product matches, and pay through Instacart. Pricing, delivery fees, and availability are set by Instacart and your chosen store.
