Recipe Cloud

Last Modified: June 17, 2026

Quick answer: Open a recipe and add its ingredients to your list, or type items directly on the Shopping / Shopping List screen. Recipe Cloud groups items by store aisle and parses quantity, unit, and notes when you use a simple line format.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open a saved recipe.
  2. Tap the ⋯ menu → Shopping List.
  3. Review the ingredient list (all items selected by default). Tap to deselect anything you already have.
  4. Tap Add to Shopping List.
  5. Open the Shopping tab to see your list.

You can also add ingredients from planned meals — see How to create a shopping list from my meal plan.

Examples

Tips

  • One item per line when bulk-adding.
  • Put quantity first, then unit, then the ingredient name.
  • Use parentheses for notes: (organic)(if needed).
  • Recipes with well-formatted ingredients import more cleanly — see Recipe formatting best practices.
  • On the web, open Settings to group by Aisle (default) or a flat A–Z list.

Tap ? next to Enter Item(s) on iOS for the same format reminder.

Where your list lives

Items sync between the iOS app and web when you’re signed into the same account. Use Share List (iOS ⋯ menu) or the web share icons to print, text, email, or copy your list.
