How to create a shopping list from my meal plan

Quick answer: Open Meal Planner, choose the dates you want to shop for, then pull ingredients from your planned recipe meals into your grocery list. On iPhone/iPad, use ⋯ → Create Grocery List. On the web, use Add to Shopping List. Review the ingredients, then add them to your list.

Before you start

  • You need recipe-based meals on your plan (meals linked to saved recipes with ingredients).
  • Custom meals (e.g. “takeout” or “leftovers”) do not add ingredients.
  • Your grocery list is the same on iOS and the web — items sync to your account.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the app and tap Planner.
  2. Tap ⋯ (top right) → Create Grocery List.
  3. Choose a date range:
    • Create from this week — uses the week shown in the planner, or
    • Select date range... — pick start and end dates, then tap Continue.
  4. On the Ingredients screen, review items grouped by recipe. Tap to select or deselect; use Select all / Deselect all per recipe.
  5. Tap Add to Shopping List.
  6. Open Shopping in the tab bar to see your list.

Web app

  1. Sign in at recipecloudapp.com and open Meal Planner.
  2. Click Add to Shopping List in the calendar toolbar.
    On mobile, open the week ⋯ menu and choose Create Shopping List.
  3. Set Start date and End date, then click Get Ingredients.
  4. Check the ingredients you want and click Add to Shopping List.
  5. Open your Shopping List from the main navigation to view items.

Tips

  • Deselect pantry staples you already have before adding to the list.
  • If no ingredients appear, confirm your planned meals are linked to recipes that have ingredient lists.
