How to save recipes from TikTok

Recipe Cloud

Last Modified: June 17, 2026

Quick answer: Open the TikTok video with the recipe, then save it with Recipe Cloud from the Share menu on iPhone or iPad, or with the Chrome extension on a computer. Sign in first. TikTok recipes are often in the video or caption, so you may need to add or edit ingredients after saving.

Before you save

  • Open the specific video — not your For You feed or a profile page.
  • Sign in to Recipe Cloud before saving.
  • Videos vary — Recipe Cloud can capture the title, thumbnail, and link, but you may need to add ingredients and steps from the video or caption yourself.
  • TikTok links on tiktok.com and common short links (such as vm.tiktok.com) are supported.

iPhone and iPad

The easiest way is the Recipe Cloud share extension from the TikTok app.

  1. Open TikTok and find the recipe video.
  2. Tap the Share arrow on the video.
  3. Scroll the share sheet and tap Recipe Cloud.
  4. Review the preview, then save to your account.

Don’t see Recipe Cloud? Tap More in the share sheet, find Recipe Cloud, and turn it on or add it to Favorites.

Get the app: Recipe Cloud on the App Store

Paste a TikTok link (alternative)

If you copied the video link:

  1. Open the Recipe Cloud app and tap Add.
  2. Choose URL.
  3. Paste the TikTok link and tap Save.

If the preview loads without full recipe details, Recipe Cloud may open an editor so you can add ingredients and steps before saving. For many TikTok videos, Share → Recipe Cloud works better than paste alone.

Computer (Chrome extension)

On a Mac or Windows PC, open the video in Chrome and use the extension.

  1. Install the Recipe Cloud Chrome extension.
  2. In Chrome, go to tiktok.com and open the recipe video.
  3. Click the Recipe Cloud icon in the toolbar.
  4. Sign in if prompted.
  5. Review the preview and click Save recipe.

The extension is for Chrome on a computer, not the TikTok mobile app or mobile browsers.

What to expect from TikTok saves

TikTok recipes are usually in the video or caption — not a standard recipe page. Recipe Cloud typically saves:

  • Video title or caption summary
  • Thumbnail when available
  • Link back to the original video

You may still need to add ingredients and instructions yourself, especially if the recipe is only shown on screen. Open the saved recipe in Recipe Cloud and tap Edit to finish it. Keeping the TikTok link on the recipe makes it easy to rewatch while you cook.

If saving does not work

  1. Try Share again from the TikTok app (iOS) or reload the video in Chrome and use the extension (desktop).
  2. Check your connection and make sure you are signed in to Recipe Cloud.
  3. Paste the video URL in the Recipe Cloud app under Add → URL.
  4. Create the recipe manually with Add → Custom and paste the TikTok link in the URL field for reference.

On iOS, open the main Recipe Cloud app and wait for the home screen to load if you see a sign-in or session message, then try Share again.

Tips

  • Read the caption on the TikTok — many creators list ingredients there.
  • Save while viewing the exact video, not a repost or search results page.
  • Saved recipes sync across devices when you use the same account on web and iOS.
